Top FOX News anchor just blew open the real reason behind Trump’s fear of interviews

- Januari 23, 2018

Today, FOX News Special Report anchor Bret Baier appeared on a Washington Post panel with fellow journalist Judy Woodruff of PBS NewsHour. Watch the video below this article from The Washington Post.

During the discussion, he told moderator Dan Balz the truth about Fox’s favorite subject, Donald Trump:

The opinion side of FOX News does not have a problem getting interviews, but my requests, Chris Wallaces’ request for an interview with the president has not been answered. I last interviewed candidate Trump almost 500 days ago and have asked every week since for an interview, sometimes twice a week.

Baier added that the president keeps repeating that it “is going to happen very soon.”

The FOX anchor made a startling insight: “In fact, Lester Holt was the last news interview — broadcast news interview — that he’s done.”

During the Lester Hold NBC interview, Trump unwittingly confessed to obstructing justice, when he admitted he fired then-FBI director James Comey over the Russia investigation — a mistake he would certainly not want to repeat.

Of course, FOX consistently offers the president positive coverage, no matter how outlandish his actions.

When confronted with FOX’s Republican bias, Baier countered, “But we do do stories where we point out the factual inaccuracies, what’s true, what’s not about what was said.”

He stopped short of denouncing the credibility of his bloviating colleague at the network, Sean Hannity:

The problem sometimes is that Fox gets painted with a broad brush and Sean Hannity’s show is not Special Report. I think Sean Hannity, for what — his opinion, he does an amazing job with bringing forward his thoughts on things. But you know what you’re watching, you know what you’re reading. The difference between those two shows is pretty stark. I think sometimes when President Obama would talk about Fox News, he would talk broadly.

Tainted by the far-right bias of coworkers like Hannity, Baier challenged viewers to consider his show with an open mind:  You have to watch my show, the news side, three times and then let me know if we cover it fairly.”

Unfortunately for real news journalists like Baier and Chris Wallace, who happen to be conservative, their shows do not air during primetime, proving that FOX does not define itself as a real news outlet.

With the White House churning out fake news and decrying a free press, discerning audiences begin to wonder how much longer the few actual journalists on FOX will allow themselves to be relegated to the sidelines.
