Marco Rubio just paid a steep price for defending the NRA after the Florida school massacre

- Februari 27, 2018

Following the tragic mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Marco Rubio (R-FL) attended a televised CNN town hall at which he staunchly defended taking donations from the NRA, and even refused to stop accepting money from the gun lobby.

Per today’s new Quinnipiac University poll, Rubio’s approval rating is now at an all-time low of only 38 percent.

Add your name to demand Trump & Congress act to prevent gun violence. THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE NOT ENOUGH!

The mark is eight points down from July 2016, and a staggering 19 points down from his all-time high.

Rubio’s disapproval rating in Florida is 53 percent, netting the Senator a dismal negative 15 percent approval rating in his home state.

Even Rubio’s strongest demographics – white men and Republicans – have shown only tepid support, with 65 percent approving and 24 percent disapproving.

Americans are fed up with the inaction of Republicans in Congress regarding common sense gun reforms, and Rubio’s hardline defense of the NRA has had momentous consequences for the Florida Senator.

Floridians have delivered a strong message to Rubio and with midterms fast approaching, choosing guns over American children’s safety may very well cost him his job.
