The Golden State Warriors have revealed where they will be visiting as a team this week in lieu of the White House. The NBA champions got into a much-publicized dustup with the president when superstar player Steph Curry announced that he had no interest in visiting the White House. Thin-skinned and reactionary as always, Trump lashed out on Twitter to rescind his invitation to Curry.
Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!

The feud received even more press when Cleveland Cavaliers player LeBron James waded in by tweeting at Trump and calling him a “bum.” He pointed out that it didn’t matter if Trump withdrew his invitation because Curry had already rejected it.
U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

The New York Post reports that the Golden State Warriors will be visiting the National Museum of African-American History and Culture during their trip to Washington D.C. In other words, rather than spending time with our overtly racist president, they’ll be spending time at an institution dedicated to black Americans, a fitting reversal.
Trump will be sure to see the move as a direct rebuke of his regressive, bigoted agenda. Here is a man who rose to the presidency on a campaign built around vilifying Mexicans and Muslims. Eschewing his offer in favor of celebrating American diversity is a brilliant move on the part of the Warriors.
“We’re doing a great thing anyway. The White House is a great honor, but there are other circumstances that we felt not comfortable going. We’re not going to politicize anything. We’re just going to go hang out with some kids and take them to the African-American Museum and teach them things we learned along the way, life lessons and hopefully give them some great memories,” player Klay Thompson explained, according to The New York Post.
It’s important that more prominent Americans take the same route as the Warriors. We must collectively reject Trump and instead focus on positive, constructive avenues of activity. By celebrating black history rather than spending time with our hateful president, the players have shown us all a path forward. For now, we can’t help the fact that Trump is president, but we can tend to each other and embrace our differences.
