Trump’s own FBI Director just defied him with a stunning message to his agents

- Februari 02, 2018

Christopher Wray — the man Trump hired to replace James Comey, the FBI director he fired for refusing to drop the Russia investigation — has had enough of his boss’ obstruction of justice.

Today, House Republicans, led by intel chair Devin Nunes of California, released a nothingburger of a memo, against the explicit warnings of both Wray and deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, on the grounds that would endanger sources in the Russia investigation.

FBI director Wray addressed his agents with words intended as much for the President as for them.

“Talk is cheap,” Wray said, implicating the cheapest talker in history, Donald Trump.  “We speak through our work.”

His own Commander-in-Chief, who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, has demoralized the FBI with his baseless attacks to the point that director Wray has to try to uplift the rank and file’s spirits, in order to keep them in the fight against enemies both foreign and domestic.

Wray’s predecessor Comey mocked Republicans’ use of today’s bogus memo as a weak attempt to politicize the FBI at the expense of national security.

Nunes compromised the Russia investigation by revealing crucial intelligence to its main target, the President, when he coordinated with him to release the memo.

More glorified press release than memo, it was a transparent attempt to discredit the investigation, but it backfired badly, revealing that the FBI renewed a FISA warrant to surveil Trump foreign policy advisor Carter Page after Page worked on the campaign, rather than while he was there.

If anything, the memo begs the question of why the Trump campaign hired a known Russian asset without vetting him.

Wray, of course, is aware of every last shred of evidence against the Criminal-in-Chief, which must make Trump highly uncomfortable.

According to sources close to the situation, Wray has already stood up to the Presidon’t on more than one occasion — an unpardonable offense in Trump’s book.

Next on the chopping block appears to be deputy Attorney General Rosenstein for not disclosing to Trump the details of Mueller’s investigation.

Hopefully, for the FBI’s sake, and the country’s, Wray will stay the course until this controversy reaches its logical and inevitable conclusion.
