U.S. Cyber Command Chief just made a shocking revelation about Trump’s election plan

- Februari 27, 2018

The Russian Federation, under the direction of dictator Vladimir Putin, actively worked to get reality television star Donald Trump into the Oval Office. This basic fact has been confirmed overwhelmingly by the American Intelligence Community. Either the Russians and Trump were engaged in some kind of quid pro quo arrangement or the foreign nation simply wanted a man as ignorant and incompetent as Trump leading their greatest geopolitical rival.

President Trump himself has repeatedly cast doubt on the consensus because he is desperate to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

If the president refuses to adamantly confirm the foundational truth, that is to say, that there was Russian interference in the 2016 election, then he leaves the door open to reject whatever findings Mueller eventually renders. It’s a cynical, self-serving strategy that sacrifices the welfare of our democracy for Trump’s personal gain.

The Raw Story reports that today, Admiral Michael Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency and commander of the U.S. Cyber Command testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that the reason Department of Defense has been unable to fight back properly against Russian cyber attacks is because the president hasn’t given them directions to do so. Rogers explained that our legal framework and the chain of command prohibit him from taking unilateral action without permission from higher up.

“What do you need as the commander to say go after and punish these guys that are trying to tear apart our critical infrastructure?” Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) asked him.

“I need a policy decision that indicates that there’s specific direction to do that. The Secretary [of Defense] would ultimately make a recommendation to the president and then based on that, we’d be given specific direction and specific authority,” replied Rogers.

“So you need a direction and specific authority from the White House?” Nelson said.

“The president ultimately would make this decision,” Rogers said.

In other words, Trump is in rank dereliction of his duties as Commander-in-Chief. He’s failing as a leader, perhaps because the knows the Russians will work to get him re-elected if he doesn’t interfere in their operations. It’s a grave betrayal of the American people.
