Michelle Obama just broke the internet with a heartwarming surprise for a young admirer

The little two-year-old girl who was photographed entranced by the official portrait of Michelle Obama got the surprise of her short life yesterday when she got to meet the former first lady in person.

The photo of Parker Curry gazing at the regal portrait of Michelle Obama, painted by Baltimore-based artist Amy Sherald, went viral last week after being posted on Facebook by a fellow museum-goer at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

Parker’s mother, Jessica Curry told CNN that her daughter was completely captivated by the painting.

“Parker was in front on the portrait, and I really wanted her to turn around so I could get a picture with her, and she genuinely, honestly would not turn around,” she said. “In further discussion with [Parker] yesterday and today, I realized that she believes Michelle Obama is a queen, and she wants to be a queen as well,” said the proud mother.

“As a female and as a girl of color, It’s really important that I show her people who look like her that are doing amazing things and are making history so that she knows she can do it.”

Mrs. Obama obviously was so impressed with Parker’s fascination with her that she decided that she had to meet the toddler herself. She posted a video of the meeting and their awesome dance party on Twitter, along with the inspirational message of a lifetime.

Parker brought out the best of the former first lady’s maternal and dancing instincts at their private party. Let’s hope that she continues to gather her inspiration from people as giving and admirable as Michelle Obama.
