Trump officials just learned a devastating lesson about post White House careers

- Maret 04, 2018

Amidst one of the highest turnover rates of any presidential administration in its first year of power, the people working in the Trump White House are reportedly facing an unprecedented dilemma.

According to MSNBC and BuzzFeed, many staffers in the administration are desperately looking for alternative employment options to escape the chaos and tempestuous working environment found in the administration.

Unfortunately for them, an entry on their resume listing a position in the Trump White House is not the ticket to a high-paying private sector job that previous veterans of presidential administrations have enjoyed.

One source told BuzzFeed:

“Things are still pretty bleak inside the White House. I’ve talked to several people in the last week trying to find a way out, but they can’t get out because no one is really hiring people with Trump White House experience. Not a fun time to say the least.”

In an environment resembling the last moments of the Titanic, gallows humor is pervasive amongst staffers. One aide responded to this week’s departure of White House Communications Director Hope Hicks by saying “The White House has lost Hope. That about says it all, right?”

Other staffers quote the recent headline from the satirical website The Onion as if it was more truthful than anyone cares to admit: “White House Now Just Holding Continuous Going-Away Party For Departing Staffers.”

While Hicks can look forward to a myriad of extremely lucrative offers of tell-all book, movie, and television deals, those White House staffers who aren’t former models with unlimited access to the President may be regretting hopping aboard the Trump gravy train right now. At least Omarosa had reality TV to fall back on.

Besides the fact that the real world does not consider their experience working for the Trump administration in the least bit of a positive light, administration personnel will have to face the possibility of paying hefty legal fees to protect themselves if they get called to testify in any of the multiple investigations that are currently on-going and surely set to continue and grow for the foreseeable future.

At this point, the unhappy White House staffers will elicit about as much sympathy from the public as the remorseful Trump voters who have seen the President try to take away their health care, give the majority of his tax cuts to his wealthy cronies, and fail to bring blue collar jobs back. The majority of people in this country did not vote for Trump and are not subject to the kind of buyer’s remorse that those who bought into his agenda are currently suffering. It’s difficult to express sympathy when your brain is shouting “We told you so!”
