Fox & Friends just gave a jaw-dropping defense of Trump’s child concentration camps [WATCH]

- Juni 22, 2018

President Trump’s policy of systematic sadism, by which children are kidnapped at the border, ripped from their parents, and thrown in concentration camps is nothing less than mass, state child abuse.

It’s a cruel practice so evil and so indefensible that it has already become Trump’s legacy. Regardless of what he does the rest of his term, this is something that will haunt him until his dying day. Thousands of children will never see their parents again, and it’s directly his fault. The Trump presidency is now synonymous with the destruction of families.

Not surprisingly, the president and his obsequious surrogates are pulling out every trick in the book to dampen the widespread outrage and political backlash that the family separations have rightly stirred up.

This morning, Brian Kilmeade — one of the fawning hosts of Fox & Friends — dropped all pretenses and moved into blunt dehumanization. He defended the kidnapping of children along the border by saying they “are not our kids.”

He said we should show them “compassion,” presumably because he wanted to at least pretend to sound human, before pointing out that the children aren’t from Idaho or Texas, as if the value of a child’s life is intrinsically tied to some arbitrary geographic distinction.

Children are children regardless of where they’re from. They need their parents, and they deserve to be protected and valued. Of course, the subtext of Kilmeade’s horrifying statement is that migrant children aren’t white children. He can’t outright say it, at least not yet, but that’s clearly what he means.

Trump and his lapdogs know the only ones supporting his atrocities are his core bigoted white voting base. As his presidential crimes get worse, they’ll be forced to resort to increasingly overt shows of racism to keep on board.
