Despite a dismal track record on public endorsements, Trump nonetheless continues to throw his toxic support behind the failed campaigns of the Republican Party.
Yesterday, the “Super Tuesday” of primary elections, was no different. Despite the fact that California is known as the heart of “the Resistance” against his administration, the president’s delusion is such that he is nonetheless throwing his full weight behind Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox (despite admitting that he did not vote for Trump in the 2016 election).
Great night for Republicans! Congratulations to John Cox on a really big number in California. He can win. Even Fake News CNN said the Trump impact was really big, much bigger than they ever thought possible. So much for the big Blue Wave, it may be a big Red Wave. Working hard!

Gavin Newsom, the Democratic candidate who served as Lieutenant Governor under Jerry Brown and is all but assured victory in the Democratic stronghold come November, saw Trump’s misguided and disingenuous display of optimism and quickly chimed in.
Please come campaign for him as much as possible. https://t.co/82iQN3shg6

The president’s endorsement these days is about as valuable as a Trump Hotel in Los Angeles. He has stumped for candidates like Ed Gillespie, Luther Strange, Roy Moore, and Rick Saccone, all of whom have lost their races to their Democratic opponents.
In his infinite delusion, Trump may think that California will be home to a “big red wave,” but he is in for an unpleasant surprise come November. Of course, with Mueller’s probe closing in, he may be in for more than one surprise by then.
