Michael Cohen’s lawyer just called for Trump to be indicted for a federal crime on eve of Cohen’s plea

- Agustus 21, 2018

The nation was stunned this afternoon by the double-whammy indictments of both former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and the President’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.

The two key members of Trump’s inner circle were both nailed for a slew of financial crimes, but in a surprising turn of events, it was former Trump Organization vice-president and longtime Trump confidante Michael Cohen whose plea deal put the President in the deepest trouble.

Cohen made sure that the court knew that it was then-candidate Donald Trump who ordered him to make the hush money payments to former Trump mistresses Stephanie “Stormy Daniels” Clifford and Karen McDougal to buy their silence and keep their allegations from influencing the election.

Since Cohen made the payments from his own personal account through a shell corporation, the jury decided that constituted campaign finance violation and charged him for it.

It thus follows that if Cohen was guilty of making the payments, shouldn’t Trump be equally guilty for ordering them? After all, we have audio recordings of Trump discussing the hush payment to former Playboy model McDougal. We know for sure he was involved. It wasn’t Michael Cohen who benefited from having the stories of his shameless philandering kept from the public eye.

Michael Cohen’s lawyer certainly seems to think so. Cohen’s counsel, Lanny Davis, took to Twitter this afternoon to call out the President and demanded that he get his day in court too:

We couldn’t agree more. Lock them all up!
