The saga of the growing feud between President Trump and his former staffer Omarosa Manigault took a stunning turn on Thursday when the former Apprentice contestant released a tape in which Lara Trump, the wife of Trump’s son Eric, offers Omarosa a $15,0000 a month campaign job in exchange for her silence on what happened in the White House behind closed doors.
“Clearly, if you come on board the campaign, we can’t have — we’ve got to — Everything, everybody positive, right?” said Lara with a nudge and wink, tiptoeing around the fact that Omarosa had “some things […] in the back pocket to pull out.”
She then offered Omarosa a “job” with a $180,000 salary, which is about the same as she was making in the White House to hold photoshoots of herself and her bridesmaids in the Rose Garden.
Omarosa would ultimately decline the offer, most likely betting that she could make more money by writing a tell-all book and then running the gauntlet of talk shows and news programs — with the added bonus of being able to publicly humiliate the racist who fired her.
It comes as no surprise that buying silence is one of the Trump team’s favorite ways of tying up loose ends, whether it be from departing White House staffers or a pesky ex-mistress. Omarosa revealed that “several former employees from the White House” had signed NDAs in exchange for large sums of money from the Trump team, which is all paid for by campaign donations.
This latest revelation is just further proof that corruption is hardwired into the Trump brain — and the house of cards is about to come crashing down.
